Welcome to my blog. This site will share my personal thoughts about my passion of creating spaces that 1. are beautiful, 2. sustainable, and 3. transformative.
There will certainly also be related information about art, culture, society, spirituality, and the entire arena that comprises our existence on our blue planet. I'll be interested in your thoughts...
I've been gardening as far back as I can remember: from harvesting portulaca seeds from the volunteer flowers in my mother's driveway and spreading them into the surrounding beds; looking from the school bus window at the grasses and flowers at the side of the country roads and wondering what they were; buying my first house and ripping out all the turf to build beds, brick paths and patios, and an arbor with my father; being a tour guide at MO Botanical Garden; going back to school at the wonderful horticulture program at St. Louis Community College-Meramec; going on weekly walks at MBG with notebook in hand to memorize names and observe the plants' constant changes; starting my own gardening business in 2000; to helping others achieve their gardening dreams with my designs, installations, and ongoing garden care. What a journey it is! I'm fortunate to have found what I'm passionate about and be able to live it every day. Thank you to everyone who takes part in my journey that is now Glorious Gardens!
